Australian passport holders can continue to visit South Korea for up to 90 days without applying for a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) or a visa waiver until the end of 2026, making it one of the more accessible destinations amid tightening global travel requirements.

 

Travel experts advise Australians to stay informed, as many other popular destinations are introducing electronic authorisations and new tourist taxes to improve border security and manage overtourism. While South Korea’s current policy reduces administrative barriers, travellers are still encouraged to monitor updates and prepare in advance as global entry systems continue to evolve.
