
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hungary is pleased to announce the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS-G) for graduate students.

1. Quota (Embassy Track): Total 4 Candidates
2. Eligibility Requirements
- Nationality: Applicants must be Hungarian citizens. (Neither the applicant nor their parents should hold Korean citizenship.)
- Age: Must be under 40 years of age.
- Academic Record: A cumulative GPA (CGPA) of at least 3.23 out of 5.0 (or equivalent) is required.
3. Application Method
- Online Submission: Apply via studyinkorea.go.kr
- Applicants must register an account on the system and complete the application process online.
- Note: Hard-copy (postal/walk-in) applications will not be accepted.
4. Important Schedule
- Application Period: February 12, 2026 (03:00) – February 25, 2026 (10:00) (CET)
- Announcement of Interviewees: March 2, 2026
- Interview Date: March 4, 2026 (Tentative)
- 1st Round Result Announcement: By March 10, 2026 (All applicants will be notified of their individual results via email.)
5. Essential Instructions
- System Registration: Do not use special accent marks (e.g., á, é, ő, ű) when registering on the system. Please enter Hungarian characters using their English alphabet equivalents.
- University Choice: Applicants must choose at least one university from the “Type B” list. (Refer to the 2026 GKS-G University Information file.)
- Recommendation Letter: The letter must be written and signed by the recommender using the provided GKS-G Recommendation Letter Form. The applicant must scan and upload the signed document to the system.
- Document Authentication: All certificates and official documents must be Apostilled before being scanned and uploaded to the system.
- Academic Transcripts: Official transcripts issued by your home university are required. The CGPA must be clearly stated. Individual subject grades or semester-based GPA are not mandatory as long as the total CGPA is verified.
- Identification Documents: Your Birth Certificate (with Apostille) and passports (preferred) or ID cards of both parents must be scanned into a single PDF file for upload. (Parental ID documents do not require an Apostille.) If documents for one or both parents are unavailable, an explanatory statement (no fixed format) must be included.
