Events at KCCs abroad

On 6 January, the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary hosted its second cultural exchange program with the participation of students from Hanil Girls' Middle and High School of Gimcheon and Lónyay High School of Budapest, presenting a successful model of youth public diplomacy. The event focused on Korea’s traditional Lunar New Year, Seollal, and brought together 60 students and teachers from both countries.

Participants learned about Seollal through presentations and hands-on activities, including calligraphy workshop, and traditional games that encouraged teamwork and natural interaction. Students from Hanil Girls’ Middle and High School played an active role as cultural ambassadors by explaining Korean traditions to their Hungarian peers.

The program emphasized the importance of cultural understanding from a young age, and the Cultural Center plans to further develop the exchange as an annual event while expanding cooperation with local schools.
