To promote K-dramas in Brazil, the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil (CCCB) announces that registration is now open for the first edition of its K-drama club, which will be discussing Bon Appétit, Your Majesty (Netflix, 2025).

The meetings will be held monthly at the culture center, moderated by Mariana Seminati Pacheco. The sessions will offer an enriching experience for Brazilian viewers, fostering reflexions that help understand the country beyond the representations found in the series.

K-dramas have become one of the main gateways to South Korean culture. With this in mind, the K-drama club aims to go beyond entertainment, using the series as a starting point to analyze aspects of Korean culture, society, and history.

About the mediator 

Mariana Seminati Pacheco Mariana holds a Ph.D. in Communication from PUC-SP and is a researcher specializing in Korean pop culture in Brazil. She has participated in events and lectures on Hallyu, such as “60 Years of Korea in Brazil – From Bom Retiro to Hallyu” (2023) and “Korean Culture” (Mackenzie, 2024). She is the author of articles on K-pop, K-dramas, and contemporary Korean culture.

oAfter completing the form, the applicant will receive a copy of their response via email. This does not mean that the applicant has been selected for the club. If selected, the student will receive a confirmation directly from the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil via email on April 9, 2025.

oRegistration and participation in this edition do not guarantee participation in future editions..

·Requirements: must be over 15 years old

·Admission: free (upon registration via Google Forms)

· Notification of selected participants: individual notification via email on April 9 for those selected.

oThe confirmation email will be sent individually only to those selected on April 9. Those who do not receive a confirmation email on this date will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

· Description: It is recommended that you watch the entire K-Drama before the meeting to get the most out of the group discussions.
