The Korean Cultural Center in Turkiye successfully held a customized event, “K-Carnival,” tailored to meet the demands of local Hallyu fans, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the center’s cafeteria and outdoor performance hall.

“K-Carnival” was designed as an experiential, multifaceted cultural event that reinterprets the lively atmosphere and sense of community (jeong) of traditional Korean markets in a modern way, combined with K-pop performances. In particular, it featured interactive elements using traditional Korean coins (yeopjeon), allowing participants to actively engage and enjoy the event beyond simple observation.

From the planning stage, the event enhanced its overall quality by developing the menu in collaboration with a chef from the ambassador’s residence. The organizers carefully selected dishes that represent traditional Korean markets and street food stalls (pojangmacha), while also appealing to local tastes. The menu included iconic market foods such as pajeon and donggeurangttaeng, as well as popular everyday Korean dishes like dakgalbi, and japchae, a representative dish often enjoyed at Korean celebrations.

Through this, participants were given the opportunity not only to experience Korean cuisine, but also to gain a deeper understanding of Korea’s food culture and sense of community.

Following this, a variety of performances took place at the outdoor stage, including K-pop shows as well as songs and dance performances by local artists. The stage, where Korean and Turkish music and performances harmoniously came together, drew enthusiastic responses from the audience. Amid the audience’s spontaneous participation and engagement, a space for exchange that transcended cultural boundaries naturally emerged.
