The 7th KoreaON Festival, Hungary’s largest free Korean cultural event, returns to Margaret Island of Budapest on June 13–14. Organized by HanYou Hungarian–Korean Cultural and Arts Foundation and Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, hosted at Kristály Színtér, the two-day festival will showcase a mix of modern Korean pop culture and traditional arts, featuring K-pop dance performances, workshops, Korean street food, beauty programs, e-sports, and cultural activities for all ages.
Highlights include performances by the world-famous South Korean a cappella group MayTree, appearances by Korean influencers Jelita Soo and Edmmer, traditional mask and dance shows by the Kkokdu-gwangdae troupe, and K-musical crossover performances by Dongseo University’s Mutation team. Visitors can also explore K-beauty trends, Korean study opportunities, gaming experiences, and Korean craft workshops.
The festival will also feature cooking demonstrations by kimchi ambassador Kim Taeyeon, who will create summer kimchi dishes using Hungarian seasonal ingredients.
Admission to all programs is free.
