This year 2015 marks 70th anniversary of the liberation of Republic of Korea (South Korea). Korea has nurtured its culture throughout a history of over five thousands of years.However, suffered the hardship of Japanese colonial rule(1910-1945). In 1948, Korea was established the democratic government, And, Korea should get over the Korea War (1950-1953) that destroyed remaining foundation.
The country has leapt from being one of the poorest countries in the world to being one of the wealthiest. As one of the more than 100 countries that were established or liberated after World War II, Korea is the only country that realized full democratization and economic advancement simultaneously. In this sense, this story is indeed one of the great miracles of history.
Through this exhibition, we want to sing together with hope and emotion.

Arirang (UNICCO’s intangible cultural heritage list in 2012) is a symbol of Korea’s history, defining its hardships as well as its happiness.
This song depicts the life of a Korean during Japanese colonial rule. It is filled with sorrow and joy and Arirang is the spirit of resistance. It had the power to help people endure pain during the Korean War and it also brought everyone together as one during the 2002 World Cup.
