The Korean Cultural
Centre UK in partnership with Serious present K-Music Festival 2015, a
London-wide celebration of Korean music, throughout September.
This wonderful
selection of concerts covers a wide range of genres – improvisational, vocally
harmonic, ancient and modern, always theatrical.
The Festival begins
at the Southbank Centre with a new collaboration with the astonishing duo SU:M
and continues into the month with timeslip female doo-wop phenomenon The
Barberettes, Korean rock band No Brain and the innovative music of Jambinai.
There is a strong theatrical side to Korean music and the gongs, shamanic
vocals and dance of Noreum Machi encapsulate this at Kings Place, along
with the night of Pansori at Cadogan Hall and the closing performance by
the Korean National Gugak Centre at Sadler’s Wells.
