The Korean Cultural Center is pleased to present Innate Lines, a solo exhibition by Studio Shinyoo. The artist has long pursued a practice of discovering universal beauty within the differences between Eastern and Western cultures, using this to connect people across them. Through this exhibition, the artist returns to Sweden – the starting point of their practice – to present the body of work accumulated since then, and the world that has grown from it. The exhibition traces how 'LIN,' an early work conceived in Sweden in 2017, expanded from furniture into architectural installation, alongside recent works exploring the time and materiality of wood. Through work shaped by these differing cultural experiences, Innate Lines reveals the point where Korean traditional aesthetics meet Nordic craft.
