The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the Korean Dance Association USA will present a special performance, “Korean Folk Dance Festival”, on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 7:30pm on the 3rd floor of Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles in the Ari Hall.
The program includes the ‘Taepyeong-mu’, ‘Fan Sanjo Dance’, ‘Ip-Chum’, ‘Scholar's Dance’, ‘Impromptu Sinawi Dance’, ‘Janggo-Chum’, ‘Impromptu Dance’, ‘Flow of My Heart’, and ‘Drum Ensemble’.
Participating artists include Lim Mi ja (president of the Korean Dance Association USA) & Lee Jung Im from Los Angeles, Hong Jin Hie & Kim Ji Rip from Korea, Hong Young-Ok from New York, Park Sung Sin from Texas, Ahn Soon Hee, Yi Chu Me and Kim Jung Hee from Oregon, and they are all joining together in LA for this special performance.
Ms. Lim Mi Ja is the president and the artistic director of the Korean Dance Association USA. For the past 27 years, she has been teaching Korean traditional dance, and producing and choreographing major performances in Southern California. By performing and continuing to teach Korean traditional dances to younger generations in America, she has endeavored in spreading the value and beauty of the Korean culture through dance and various performances.
*This performance is presented as a part of the Korean Cultural Center’s 2016 ARI PROJECT Season 3: Performing arts series, which feature a rich program of various performing arts programs including Korean traditional music and world music, as well as contemporary dance and theater.
