The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will present a traditional Korean Cultural Heritage Workshop, 'Seungmu' on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2:00p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles, Ari Hall.

As the fifth workshop of the year, Master Lee Ae Ri (Initiate of Seungmu, intangible cultural property No. 27 in Chungcheongnam-do) will teach Seungmu (Buddhist monk dance). Sim Hwa Young-typed Seungmu is a valuable dance as it is deeply instilled with Chungcheongnam-do (literally "Chungcheong Southern Province"), local features and of a simple and elegant form through which we can see the original form of staged Seungmu.

Seungmu(Intangible cultural property No. 27 in Chungcheongnam-do)
As a representative traditional dance with Junggoje artistic legacy, it is a designated intangible cultural property No. 27 in Chungcheongnam-do. Unlike other types of Seungmu, Sim Hwa Young-typed Seungmu is a valuable dance as it is deeply instilled with local features and of a simple and elegant form through which we can see the original form of staged Seungmu.
