Saturday 25th August 2018, Kungsträdgården, 12.00 – 21.00, FreeAdmission · One-day festival for all ages full of a diversity of the Korean culture · Stage performances of traditional Korean music & dance, K-Pop, Taekwondo, K-Beauty makeup show and cooking show The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sweden is organizing the Korean Culture Festival 2018 on August 25 from 12:00 to 21:00 at Kungsträdgården in Stockholm to introduce various charms of the Korean culture to Sweden. The Korean Culture Festival is the biggest event on the Korean culture held in the heart of Stockholm City where many Swedish citizens and tourists can meet, experience and enjoy the beauty and taste of the Korean culture. The festival which began in 2016 has been playing an important role in promoting cultural exchange between the Republic of Korea and Sweden by more than 20,000 visitors each year. At this year’s festival, visitors will be able to see, enjoy, experience and taste a wide range of the Korean culture. First of all, traditional Korean music and dance, Taekwondo, Korean food cooking show and K-Beauty makeup show will be performed on the stage throughout the day. Participatingartists and performers include: “MYTEEN”, a prominent K-Pop group all the way from Korea, “Sohee Kim”, a talented singer from the famous TV show “Produce 101” of Korea, “Shilla Ensemble”, a UK based music group specialized in the traditional Korean music and dance, “Maria Gomez”, a makeup artist and specialist in the Korean style makeup, “Jens Linder”, a Swedish chef and food journalist who published a book on Korean food, “Mudo Academy”, a Taekwondo training institution established in 1975 in Sweden and Swedish local K-Pop cover groups “Cerebro Kriszti”, “ Cornelia Lager”, “EVL”, “Ignite+PRISM”, “New Rule”, “R-10”, “Sai Sravani Chappalle”, “Starling”, “ToXIC$”, “T2C” and “VIVID”. Outside the stageat Kungsträdgården there will be various activity booths open to the public as well. Those activity booths were extremely popular and received well in previous festivals. Just like last year, diverse cultural activities for all ages such as traditional Korean paper craft, calligraphy, knot craft, traditional pattern coloring will be waiting for visitors this year. Visitors will also find great opportunities to learn Korean language through Korean songs, make Korean food, learn K-Pop dance, experience the Korean-style makeup, learn Taekwondo, try on the traditional Korean costume “Hanbok”, enjoy traditional Korean folk games, etc. Furthermore, there will be a booth run by the Korea Tourism Organization(KTO) London Office where visitors can find information on travel to Korea and tourist attractions in Korea. For those who are interested in Korean food and beauty products, there will be food zone and market booths where visitors can taste Korean food and buy products related to food and cosmetics. There will be a booth with the K-Pop merchandise goods as well. Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Stockholm Office and Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) Paris Office will also run booths to introduce Korean products to the Swedish people. As a total package of various aspects of the Korean culture from traditional to modern, the Korean Culture Festival 2018 will be an awesome chance for the locals of Sweden and tourists from all around the world to enjoy the Korean culture in the middle of Stockholm City and learn more about Korea.
