Korean Cultural Centre India announces the launch of the Korean version of a mobile application called Augtraveler for tourists visiting India.

The application includes a Korean language description and guides for Korean tourists visiting India. India has been one of the popular destinations for young Koreans, which has recently extended to older generations.

It was proposed and created by Augtraveler, mobile application company in order to encourage the tourists to visit India’s cultural heritage and deliver AR (Augmented Reality) and multimedia experiences of the sites

The Korean version of the application includes six UNESCO heritages in Delhi and Agra: Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. In future, it will include other cultural heritage sites in India.

The application not only provides with historical accuracy, but the users can experience the interactive features with AR, which will fascinate and attract the Korean tourists.

Mr Kim Kum-pyoung, director of Korean Cultural Centre India, says “this application will be a chance for promoting tourism of India to many Koreans as well as deepening the mutual understanding of India and Korea through accurate information and respect on cultural heritage.” Korean Cultural Centre India has been contributing to invigorate tourism in India and encourage Korean tourists to gain a profound understanding of India’s fruitful history and cultural heritage. Since 2014, the Korean Cultural Centre has installed Korean audio guide in the Red Fort and National Museum, Delhi with the significant support of Korean organizations.

Augtraveler has been recognized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India, as an innovative startup.
