On May 22, 2019, at 18:00 in Piazza San Carlo, the Taekwondo demonstration of the World Taekwondo team was staged in the Korea Week Torino 2019. It was an intense and exciting square event that lasted about 40 minutes. For Torino it was an absolute first for Taekwondo demonstrations. The event was attended by the FITA President of the Piedmont Region Edoardo Greco, the President of the Korean Community of Turin Kyungkyu Yoon and about 2000 other spectators.

Before the WT demonstration the musicians of the National Traditional Korean Music Center attracted the attention of the spectators present in the square with a brief taste of 'Samulnori' (Korean traditional percussion). Following there were the institutional greetings of the Korean Cultural Institute Director Choong Suk Oh and the Director of Cultural Services of the City of Turin Emilio Agagliati.
Among the performances, the national flags of Korea and Italy were waved to underline the friendship between the two countries. The choreography on the notes of the Korean traditional song 'Arirang' is also very exciting. As a tribute to Italy, a performance featuring the Italian peninsula and another choreography on the notes of the winning San Remo song 'Soldi' was performed. Furthermore, the breaking of wooden tablets with flying kicks, combat simulations, spectacular shapes and techniques could not be missing.

The WT demonstration team put the Italian Tricolore on its uniform and received the warm support of the public by waving Italian flags and performing choreographies with Italian songs. Finally the performance ended showing everyone the banner depicting the phrase 'Peace is more precious than triumph' expressing the will of the team to contribute to peace in the World.

Claudio Sciaraffa, a citizen services officer and also a Taekwondo master, said "Taekwondo's students and athletes in Turin had never seen such a high level demonstration, it was a moment of immense pride throughout the Taekwondo movement to host the WT team here in Turin ". Also present was the head of the Korean community in Turin Kyungkyu Yoon who said "it was exciting to watch this spectacular demonstration of Taekwondo and it is a source of great pride as a Korean to have Korea Week in Turin".
