On Saturday 1st June 2019, Southern Africa Branch of the
National Unification Advisory Council, hosted the “2019 Golden Bell Challenge
for Korean History and the Peaceful Unification of Korea” at the Chancery of
the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Pretoria. About 120 people attended the
event including the contenders from primary, middle and high school and their
parents, as well as staff members from Johannesburg Korean (Hangul) School and
Pretoria Korean (Hangul) School, and representatives from the South Africa
Korean Association.
Ambassador Dr. Jong-Dae Park urged the quiz-participants (contenders) to give a
full-fledged opportunity to recall our history and inter-Korean unification,
and wished them the best of luck in this Golden Bell Challenge.
