Korean Cultural Centre India, along with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea hosted the ‘2nd All India Inter SAI-Korea Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship 2019’ from 7th June till 10th June 2019 at K.D. Jadhav Indoor Wrestling Hall, Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.

The opening ceremony for the event was conducted on 7th June 2019 and was attended by dignitaries such as Mr Shin Bongkil, the Ambassador of Korea to India; Ms Neelam Kapur, Director General of SAI; Mr Sanjay Saraswat, Regional Director of International Cooperation Cell; Mr Kim Kum Pyoung Director of Korean Cultural Centre India; Ahn Young Jin, Senior Executive Director of Hyundai India.

The ceremony was started by facilitating the Guests, which was followed by a congratulatory message by Ambassador sir to the participants. After one game of both female and male heavyweight group, a congratulatory performance by Taekwondo Demonstration of Korean Cultural Centre, and a Traditional Indian Dance Performance prepared by Sports Authority of India took place. 

Once the congratulatory performances ended the medal ceremony was conducted.

The event ended with a group picture of all the winners and delegates in attendance.

A total of 326 sports people participated in the Championship.
