Events at KCCs abroad

On 14th August 2019, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Daegu Museum of Art, Korea, and Korean Cultural Centre India inaugurated the exhibition, “100th Anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement: One Shiny Day” at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.


Co-organised by National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and Daegu Museum of Art, Korea, and supported by Korean Cultural Centre India, the exhibition celebrates the 100th Anniversary of both the March First Independence Movement in Korea and the establishment of the Korean Provisional Government. 


The event was inaugurated by our distinguished guests Mr. Adwaita Charan Garanayak (Director General of National Gallery of Modern Art), Ms. Ritu Sharma (Director of National Gallery of Modern Art), Ms. Choi Eunju (Director of Daegu Museum of Art) and Mr. Kim Kum Pyoung (Director of Korean Cultural Centre India). 


The event was an important mark of friendship between Korea and India. It began with the felicitation of our esteemed guests with angavastram and bouquets. It was then followed by riveting speeches by our chief guests who spoke earnestly about the importance of such cultural exchanges between the two nations. Lastly, with the auspicious lighting of the lamp, the exhibition finally commenced. 

The exhibition “100th Anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement: One Shiny Day” is a part of the Korea-India Exhibition Exchange Program through which Daegu Art Museum of Korea will send its exhibition One Shiny Day to National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, India and the NGMA will send its exhibition “Dandi Yatra” to Daegu Art Museum, Korea. 


The exhibit is on display till 29th September 2019 at National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
