Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Good evening, everyone!
It is great to see you all tonight on the occasion of the 2019 KCC Gala.
The evolution of the KCC reminds me of building a snowman. As you know very well, in order to build a wonderful snowman, you always have to start from a small snowball.
You first have to make it with your hands in a caring and careful manner. And then, you need to roll the snowball around on the ground until it gets large enough.
Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I think this is exactly how the KCC has evolved. It started with a group of well-intentioned Korean seniors in the name of Friends of Grace Seniors (FGS).
Just like a growing snowball, the FGS, currently KCC, has evolved into a much bigger organization over the past 19 years.
Its transformation is truly impressive. The KCC has emerged as one of the most exemplary social service institutions, which provides tailored programs and services ranging from cultural and educational programs to health and social services for all generations of Korean-Americans in the area.
Indeed, the KCC serves as such a nice melting pot for Korean-Americans to gather, share, and learn from each other.
I am confident that the KCC has made and will continue to make such meaningful contributions to the healthy development of the greater Korean-American Community.
In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication that all members of the KCC have made.
(Let us give them a big round of applause!)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is important to ensure that the KCC will continue to make its best efforts to remain an inclusive, relevant, and sustainable organization as it should.
I am pleased to note that the KCC is holding the gala event tonight as part of such efforts to keep its forward momentum. Without a doubt, tonight’s event is both timely and meaningful as it aims to help Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) families to meet their everyday challenges.
It is for this reason that I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations on the successful hosting of this gala event.
My special thanks go to CEO Ryu Eun Ju, Gala Co-chairs Dr. Kim Young Joon and Mr. Jason Chon, all other organizers, volunteers and sponsors for their hard work and effort to make this beautiful event possible.
Please enjoy the rest of the evening. Thank you
