제 18회 뉴저지 추석맞이 대잔치 축사

존경하는 동포 여러분, 어르신 여러분, 차세대 한인 동포 여러분,

오늘 “뉴저지 추석맞이 대잔치” 행사를 통해 모두들 밝고 환하신 모습을 다시 뵙게 되어 정말 반갑습니다.  추석 맞이 행사가 올 해도 성황리에 개최될 수 있도록 애써주신 우리 박은림 회장님과 뉴저지 한인회 관계자 여러분, 후원기관 여러분, 자원 봉사자 여러분들께 치하와 축하의 말씀을 드립니다.

올해 18번째를 맞이하는 “뉴저지 추석맞이 대잔치”는 해를 거듭할수록 의미가 더욱 깊어집니다.  무엇보다도 후발 이민자로서 갖은 역경에도 불구하고, 한국인 특유의 투지와 성실성을 바탕으로 모범적인 이민 그룹으로 성장한 우리 한인 동포사회의 높아진 위상과 역량을 당당하게 보여주는 연례행사로서 자리 매김을 했기 때문입니다.

우리 동포 여러분들께서는 뉴저지 지역사회는 물론 더 나아가 위대한 미국을 위해, 그리고 문화적인 다양성을 위해서도 큰 기여를 해오셨습니다.

또한 한미 양국간 우호협력관계가 더욱 돈독해지도록 가교 역할도 훌륭하게 수행해 오셨습니다. (그간의 노고에 대해 치하와 함께 감사의 큰 박수 드립니다.)

Distinguished guests, ladies, and gentlemen,

Thank you so much for joining us, in celebration of the 18th 추석, or Korean Thanksgiving Festival, in your great state, New Jersey. As always, your valuable presence makes this event very special and meaningful.

Thanks to your leadership and strong support for Korean-American New Jerseyans, they have indeed thrived, further promoting the political, economic, and social dynamics of their respective communities in the Garden State.

What’s more, with your friendship, the Korean-American community has become a valued part of the regional fabric that enriches the cultural diversity of this great state, while serving as a natural and beautiful bridge between the United States of America and Korea.

Considering all this, I would like to take a moment to give all of you a big round of applause!

Distinguished guests, ladies, and gentlemen,

On the occasion of the Korean Thanksgiving Festival today, I truly hope that you will enjoy not only a variety of Korean cultural programs, including K-pop and dance, but also, of course, delicious Korean food.

존경하는 동포 여러분,

올해는 “3.1운동 100주년”과 “임시정부 수립 100주년”이 되는 해입니다. 새로운 100년을 여는 올해 한민족 고유의 아름다운 전통이 태평양을 넘어 이곳 뉴저지에서 계속 전승되도록 해주는 오늘 행사는 의미가 큽니다. 

또한 한인 동포 1세대, 2세대, 차세대가 함께 모여 송편을 비롯하여 맛있는 한가위 음식을 나누면서, 고국에 대한 추억과 향수를 되새겨 보시는 소중한 자리라는 점에서도 뜻 깊습니다.

오늘 모두 함께 한마음이 되어 즐겁고 귀한 시간을 보내시기 바랍니다.
