Mozart’s opera lovers were wowed by the performance of The Magic Flute on Thursday night.

The production by Salon Music was held at the Brooklyn Theatre and it will end on 2 February.

The Magic Flute is one of the greatest operas ever written, Mozart’s timeless classic concerns the search for truth and reason, love and enlightenment.

The Magic Flute follows the adventures of Prince Tamino and the bird-catcher Papageno on their quest to rescue Pamina. To assist their mission with magical powers, which they deploy to conquer the trials and tribulations placed in their path towards a deeper understanding.

This Mozart’s opera is fully-staged in two acts sung in German with English surtitles.

The Magic Flute is also prescribed for matric subject music and is an ideal work to introduce young people to opera. There are timeless melodies and a perfect blend of serious and comic elements in this masterful tale of fantasy.
