Hosted by the Korean Cultural Center of Indonesia (Director Chun Young-pyeong), on February 22 (Sat), Jakarta's Global Mandiri in collaboration with about 1,500 students from elementary, middle and high school students with disabilities held the 'Korean Festival'.
The “Korean Festival” was held annually as part of an event held on the theme of a specific area, the largest of its kind on school. This year, the theme of “Korea”, which was the most “hot” of students' interest was decorated. The event was visited by about 800 people, including the chairman of the Global Mandiri School, the teacher group, and students, as well as teachers and students from partner schools in Jakarta.
Part 1 held a seminar on Korea for about 40 minutes in the auditorium, and the participation rate of students trying to get the right answer in the 'mini quiz show' that followed was quite high, so it was possible to measure the scale of interest in Korea.
In the second part of the event, the K-Pop cover dance and vocal finals held in advance (the total of 7 teams consisting of elementary and high school students), △ Hanbok fashion show, △ K -The Food (Tteok, Snack, Snack, etc.) experience hall and △ Korean Culture Promotion Hall were operated to provide fun for traditional games and craft experiences.
In particular, at the Hanbok Fashion Show using recycled materials, six hanboks that were creatively reinterpreted using hemp sacks, milk packs, and paper that were commonly found in the field were presented. Participants showed their enthusiasm for making hanbok hair ornaments themselves, so they could get a glimpse of their true affection for Korea. Each participant was baptized after the fashion show.
This “Korean Festival” event, which continued tirelessly until 8:00 pm, was an opportunity to spread the right Korean culture and expand the foundation to foster future voluntary Korean wave ambassadors. In addition, it was held as an opportunity to seek ways to develop students' interpretation of the beauty of hanbok using recycled materials.
