영정거리 Youngjeong-geoli
This piece was inspired by a spirit ritual music from the Hwanghae province. The Korean ancestors believed that small gods lived in every part of the house. All the small gods were served and treated through joyful music before starting the ritual ceremony.
난봉가 Nanbongga
This piece was created from a casanova’s love story. Nanbong ga, an exemplary folk song from the Hwanghae provinces, meets the minimalism of the gayageum, ajaeng, daegeum, piri, and percussion, creating a passionate mood. As the second half progresses the performance reaches its climax, and the song and instruments converge, leaving a strong impression.
어차 Uh cha
This music is an interpreted boat song of Hwanghae-do, illustrating the heart of a sailor who happily returns to port with a boat full of fish. In the final song of the concert. It is a song about happiness and hope, as we all row towards a brighter and hopeful future.
