Global Korean language speaking & writing contest 2020 

  • Anubhuti Kakati, Korean Cultural Centre India student won first prize in writing


Award ceremony was held in National Hangeul Museum in Seoul, South Korea. Kakati was appreciated as final winner in contest whose title was “Meeting Korea through online”, with her story of pursuing her dream to be Korean language teacher by listening to Korean music and Korean lecture programs. First lady, HE Kim Jungsook who visited India two times in 2018, attended Deepotsav event in Ayodhya and gave an encouraging speech focusing on two countries` symbiotic relationship attended and addressed the ceremony saying “the whole world`s interest about Korea and Korean language is getting heated with the rapid spread of Korean culture wave(Hallyu). I hope you who is learning Korean to be bridge between Korean and your country and the whole world.”

‘King Sejong Institute Korean language speaking & writing contest’ covering the world over has been held yearly, this year 1,918 students from 46 countries participated in speaking category, and 1,031 from 33 countries participated in writing category. Total 16 winners of each category will be invited to Korea for scholarship program in Korean universities.

Shin Bong-kil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India said ‘Sincere congratulations to our Indian representative who won first prize. Hope more Indian students to study Korean and to be the bridge between two countries.’
