Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center of Italy held the “K-Pop Dance and Singing Contest” (K-POP PARTY 2020) through the Cultural Center's YouTube channel from 9pm to 10pm on Sunday, 10.25 (Sun) as part of the 2020 online Korean culture event.

In addition, to select the winners of the contest, the contest video was posted on the Youtube of the Cultural Center and online voting was conducted for a week.

This contest was produced in the form of a music broadcast in which a host invited by the Korean Cultural Center introduced each participant and followed by a performance video, and received a great response from local K-pop fans.

For a week after 10.25, a total of 5,712 people participated in the online voting to select the winner while watching the video posted on the Korean Cultural Center YouTube.

By combining the online voting and the Cultural Center's own judging, the winners of the three categories: solo dance, group dance, and song, were announced on Monday, January 1, 2020. The winners by field are as follows.


-Solo Dance Category: 1st place <Kami>, 2nd place <Martina Agreman>, 3rd place <Riki>

-Group dance category: 1st place <Project X> (6 people), 2nd place <Entense> (8 people), 3rd place <M2B> 5 people

-Song category: 1st place <Sina Medel>, 2nd place <Gold Rush> (3 people), 3rd place <J&K> (2 people)

Meanwhile, a total of 68 teams from all over Italy (Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin, Naples, etc.) applied for the preliminary competition held online from 9.14 to 10.7 in 2020.

15 teams (9 K-Pop cover dance groups, 3 solo dance teams, and 3 song teams) were selected through internal judging.

Subsequently, a video introducing the 15 teams was produced at the Cultural Center with two external facilitators.

The video of the K-Pop contest finale posted on the YouTube of the Cultural Center at 9 pm on Sunday, October 25, recorded a total of 35,997 views during the voting period (one week).

The number of real-time broadcasts was 10,000 times and the maximum number of simultaneous viewers was 1,600.

This was a significant increase from the fact that the number of views on YouTube videos of the Korean Cultural Center previously remained in the thousands.

In addition, the number of YouTube subscribers at the Cultural Center increased by 300 through the K-Pop contest video.


On the other hand, the promotional video that introduces the K-Pop contest posted on the Cultural Center's YouTube recorded 12,181 views, and 25,167 views of the finalist announcement video, apart from the K-Pop contest final video.

The 5 posts related to the K-Pop contest posted on the Cultural Center Instagram recorded 5,255 likes, 378 shares, and 8,014 plays.

The five posts related to the K-Pop contest posted on the Cultural Center's Facebook page were 259 likes and 23 shares.

The page related to the K-pop contest posted on the website of the Cultural Center recorded 2,820 views.

K-Pop contest spectators and contest participants showed positive responses through comments on YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram of the Cultural Center.

"The K-Pop Party Online 2020 event is so good," said Elita Baldetti, and Elisa Ingenito said, "The level of participants is so high that I don't know who to vote."

Contest participant Costantina Squarci posted, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Cultural Center for giving me the opportunity to participate in this contest and that I have worked hard to all participants.”

Contest participant Marilena Guatteri said, “Thank you to the Institute for the opportunity. I would like to send a congratulatory message to the winning teams and all participants. I hope this event can be held offline next time.”
