Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theatre will present "One Dance" from Aug. 21-24 at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. The performance is a contemporary adaptation of ilmu (one dance), which is part of the Jongmyo Jeryeak, the royal ancestral ritual music of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) designated National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the government and UNESCO's World Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The work has received domestic and international acclaim for its enchanting kalgunmu (synchronized dance), dynamic stage performance, and masterful blend of tradition and modernity. The show will also be held later this year at Gangneung Arts Center in Gangneung, Gangwon-do Province, and Daegu Arts Center in the nation's No. 4 city.
