The National Changgeuk Company of Korea on Sept. 19 will present "Complete Performance of Pansori" at Daloreum Theater of the National Theater of Korea in Seoul's Jung-gu District. Held since 1984, the work features a pansori (traditional lyrical opera) singer performing the genre's five major works in complete form. Accompanied by a drummer's beats and exclamations of encouragement, the feature-length production will showcase the vocalist's skills honed over a lifetime and tidbits on her life and experiences. Commentary on her career and work will also offer audiences the opportunity to experience the depth and appeal of a complete pansori piece.
