Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Beethoven Symphony No. 4

Under the subtitle of ‘Beethoven Stories,' Conductor Park Tae-young and Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra is on a voyage toward the magnificent goal to play the whole series of Beethoven symphony. On July 25, the orchestra will play the Symphony No. 4 as their 7th repertoire of Beethoven symphony.

Symphony No. 4 was composed during the most peaceful and romantic time of Beethoven's life. Maybe that is why the Symphony No. 4 is significantly different from Symphony No. 3 ‘Eroica' and Symphony No. 5 ‘Schicksall.' There is only happiness without a hit of tragedy in Symphony No. 4. Schuman expressed it as “a Greek girl trapped between two giants from Northern European Myth.”

The two promising musicians of Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, flutist Oh Eun-ji and cellist Jeong Min-young will together play Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 2 and Saint Saen's Cello Concerto No. 1.
