Jangyongyeong Gate Guarding Ceremony is held at Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. This event is an exact re-enactment of the ceremony that took place during King Jeongjo's reign in Hwaseonghaenggung Palace. King Jeongjo founded his beloved Royal Guards in 1777 and until 1800 it was the most powerful of all royal military units.
