The walled city of Suwon (meaning "water source") is the capital of Gyeonggi-do, and its long history has been inextricably linked with nearby Seoul since the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty. Like Seoul, the city is a fascinating repository of architectural remains from the Joseon period, and our guide today, Mr. Peter Bartholomew, has made intensive study into the Joseon Dynasty from an architectural perspective.
