The show is based on a love story between a fisherman named “Seoktong” and a beautiful maiden Nahui. The show also deals with the founding of Balhae (698-925), one of Korea's ancient kingdoms established after the fall of Goguryeo, which occupied southern parts of Manchuria (Northeast China) and the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.
'Princess Balhae” is the center's leading children's performance, premiered in 2006.
