Meet The Maestro Series: Han Sung-jun

Three legendary figures in the field of gugak (Korean traditional music) are returning back to the stage this fall. The first of the series is dancer Han Sung-jun (1874-1942) whose movements opened a whole new chapter to Korean history of dance.

A dialogue will take place in the middle of the performances to get to know him better. Lawyer Kang Ji-won will question Han's legacy and Choi Hae-ri will be there to answer it all. For foreign viewers, the main gist of the dialogue will be prearranged to be shown in English subtitles that would flash in the white screen on the stage. The major performances will include Seungmu, the Buddhist dance, Hakchum the crane dance and Taepyeongmu the dance of prosperity and peace.
