An orchestra with 95 years of tradition and renowned for its innovative sound.
The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra is coming to Korea. Conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras will present a beautiful harmony.
Founded in 1918, the orchestra has recruited young conductors to develop and experiment with a wide range of repertoires from Baroque to contemporary music. In addition to Nezet-Seguin, great young conductors including James Conlon and Valery Gergiev have worked and gained fame with this orchestra.
As one of the musical representatives for the Netherlands, the orchestra will perform Dutch composer Johan Wagenaar’s "Cyrano de Bergerac" Overture, Op. 23, as well as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 and Shostakovich’s Cello Concert No. 1.
