The annual Great Mountains Music Festival will introduce the works of Nordic composers and musicians in the mountainous Gangwon-do (Gangwon Province) from July 14 to August 6.
The festival will also showcase commissioned works for the event and operatic highlights under the theme “Northern Lights.”
Well-known musicians from around the world including pianists Paik Hae-sun, Robert McDonald, and Kevin Kenner; violinists Chung Kyung-wha, Kim Nam-yun, and Koichiro Harada; and cellists Chung Myung-wha, David Geringas, Gary Hoffman, and Jian Wang. They will perform works by Grieg, Britten, Mozart, Schumann, Paganini, Dvorak, Verdi, Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Faure as well as Nordic composers including Einojuhani Rautavaara, Dag Wiren, and Jon Leifs.
