Janacek String Quartet, a chamber ensemble of the Czech Republic, has gained reputations, acclaimed for bringing the composer’s rendering to an unprecedented perfection. Founded in 1947, JSQ started an intense program of foreign tours in 1955, and soon won world-renown.
For the upcoming concert, JSQ is going to perform the classics of Antonin Dvorak and Bedrich Semtana as well as Janacek’s String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters”, the key piece from The Unbearable Lightness of Being, the 1988 film based on the namesake book by the Czech writer, Milan Kundera.
