Traditional talchum mask dances (탈춤) that have been passed down in many towns across Korea will be staged at the Seoul Donhwamun Traditional Theater this August.
The preservations societies of Gyeonggi-do Province’s Yangju Byeolsandae Nori mask drama (양주별산대놀이), Hwanghae-do Province’s Bongsan mask dance (봉산탈춤) and Gangryeong mask dance (강령탈춤), Hamgyeong-do Province’s Bukcheong Lion Dance (북청사자놀음) and Gyeongsangnam-do Province’s Goseong ogwangdae mask dance (고성오광대), as well as young mask dancers from across the country, will deliver the sorrow and joy of the regional mask performances through beautiful choreography and colorful masks.
