The musical “Flashdance” will hit Seoul from Jan. 18 at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.
Based on the 1983 hit film and set in Pittsburgh, the musical is about Alex, an 18-year-old girl who is a steelworker by day and a nightclub dancer by night. She dreams of attending Shipley Dance Academy and becoming a professional dancer.
A cast from London’s West End will stage Alex’s journey toward her dreams and her romance with Nick, the son of the mill owner she works for. Expect intense and dynamic dance along with classic hits such as “Flashdance (What a Feeling),” “Gloria” and “I Love Rock and Roll.”
The musical will run through Feb. 17 and admission is open to people age 13 or over. Korean subtitles will be provided as the musical is in English.
