Vice Minister Kim Sung-sup of SMEs and Startups Attends Korea-Vietnam Investment Cooperation Forum
SEJONG – Kim Sung-sup, Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, participated in the Korea-Vietnam Investment Cooperation Forum held on November 21, 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam. The forum focused on fostering collaboration to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in both countries and facilitating their global expansion.
Co-hosted by KBIZ and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, the event aimed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Korea and Vietnam. It gathered approximately 500 participants, including high-ranking officials from both governments, embassy representatives, industry associations, and business leaders.
On the same day, Vice Minister Kim visited the Hanoi Global Business Center (GBC) and chaired a meeting with Korean companies operating in the region. During the meeting, he reviewed the operational status of the GBC and the K-Startup Center (KSC) while addressing the concerns of Korean entrepreneurs active in Vietnam.
Vice Minister Kim stated, “The GBC and KSC are vital platforms that form the foundation for the growth of SMEs in both countries,” and emphasized, “We will continue to provide government-level support to ensure the successful local expansion of businesses.”
The visit to Vietnam aimed to revitalize economic exchanges between Korea and Vietnam and to strengthen the foundation for Korean companies’ overseas growth. Vice Minister Kim further noted, “During this visit, we confirmed the strong demand for collaborative exchanges in Vietnam, where Korean businesses are actively expanding. MSS remains committed to fostering networking opportunities and enhancing the global competitiveness of companies in both countries.”
