The Big-O stage at Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea is set to stage large-scale events and performances one after another, including a world-famous R&B star John Legend’s performance, “2012 Hyundai Motor Cup FIFA Online 2 Championship” and performances by Korea’s famous singers and boy bands such as 2AM, Seven, M-black, SHINee and INFINITE.
The mega-performances are expected to draw more visitors to the Yeosu Expo, especially during weekends and holidays when the performances are set to be staged.
In celebrating the Day for Hyundai Motor Group on May 25, the “Big 5 Concert” will be staged, which will feature Korean top singers such as Kim Gun-mo, Lee Seung-whan, Seven and 2AM.
“The World We Create Together” will signal the beginning of the concert with Kim Gun-mo, Seven and Secret on stage. It will be followed by five “big stages” which will be performed by Park Ji-min and Lee Ha-i, winners of a Korean reality TV show “K-Pop Star”, Taiwanese and Korean boy bands, and Lee Seung-whan who is one of the best singers in Korea.
“The king of R&B” John Legend is ready to mesmerize the audience on 26th at the Yeosu Expo.
He is a world-famous singer who’s considered to be on a par with Stevie Wonder. Befitting his name of John “Legend”, he won nine Grammys and his records sold 8 million copies around the world. It is his third visit to Korea, following his 2009 and 2011 visits.
The performances will be broadcast live on the Expo Digital Gallery as well, allowing tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy the shows.
Besides the mega concerts, the final tournament of “2012 Hyundai Motor Cup FIFA Online 2 Championship” will be held at the Yeosu Expo special stage on May 27.
The “2012 Hyundai Motor Cup FIFA Online 2 Championship” is an e-sports game which is based on an online soccer game “FIFA Online 2” but played with the same rules of a real soccer game.
A series of large-scale performances are also set to take place in June at the Expo, drawing attention from would-be visitors.
To celebrate “Visit Korea Year”, “K-pop Korean-Wave Concert” is set to be staged on June 9, where BEAST, Park Jae-bum, A pink and other Korean singers and dance groups are going to perform. Leessang & Jung In and Busker Busker, who is widely known for its hit song “Yeosu Night Sea”, are also going to perform on 15th.
The Defense Media Agency for Public Information Services is set to put on a special K-pop concert on 16th, which will feature a Korean Wave star Rain and Park Hyo-shin who are currently fulfilling their military duties. The K-pop concert will be followed by special performances by popular Korean boy bands such as 2AM, SHINee and INFINITE on 19th and 26th, attracting more visitors to the Yeosu Expo.
Admission ticket holders of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea can enjoy all the shows and performances free of charge on a first come, first served basis. The 33,000-won admission ticket is available both at the Expo official website (www.expo2012.kr) and Interpark.
