A festival that brings the world together is heating up along the picturesque coastlines of Yeosu. There is a great hustle and bustle at Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, crowded with visitors who want to enjoy more of a cultural feast and future technologies displayed at the Expo. For visitors who might be exhausted from looking around the site that has so many things to watch and enjoy, the Yeosu Expo offers places to take a rest in the beautiful nature. The Cruise Park and the EXPO Park, located inside and outside the Expo site respectively, are equipped with plenty of patio umbrellas and benches, providing spaces for relaxation to visitors.
The Cruise Park, located on the right side of the Corporate Plaza, is full of Dol San mustard flowers in full bloom. The clouds of wheat ears swaying in a gentle sea breeze welcome visitors.
A visitor from Suwon, Gyungi Province said that “I was worn out after looking around a couple of pavilions, but here, as I feel at one with nature looking at this magnificent scenery of the sea and flowers, I feel completely refreshed.”
In the vicinity of the Cruise Park is a passenger ship terminal where international cruise ships come in and out frequently. It offers the view of Odong Island, the Hallyeosudo Marine National Park and the beautiful coastlines of Gyungnam Province. It is one of the best places in the Expo site to get relaxation and enjoy the nature while enjoying the view of huge vessels making preparation to enter Gwangyang Bay.
The Cruise Park is also adjacent to the Energy Park where visitors can look around eco-friendly energy production facilities.
The EXPO Park, located on the way to Odong Island from the Expo site, cultivates a variety of flowers and crops including wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, zinnias, gladioluses and lilies, catching the eyes of visitors.
While the Park reminds adults of their hometowns in rural areas, it also serves as a place where children can observe and learn about various crops. The park, located outside the Expo site, is easily accessible and free of charge.
