The Organizing Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea announced the addition of 115 stores as “officially designated” establishments for the Expo. They are 38 lodging facilities, 76 restaurants and one shopping center.
The selections were made after a careful screening process was carried out on establishments designated as “outstanding” by 12 municipal governments. The latest selections increased the total number of Expo-designated establishments to 508. The Organizing Committee plans to select more establishments in May, screening 442 stores recommended by 15 municipalities including Yeosu, Suncheon, Namhae, and Hadong.
“Through continued monitoring and education on service and etiquette, we’ve been improving the overall service level of the designated establishments,” said Cho Yun-gu, director for the Tourism and Accommodation Division of the Organizing Committee. “In particular, we’re collaborating with the nation’s largest online hotel reservation company, ‘HotelNjoy,’ to provide online services for the designated lodging facilities.”
More information on the designated establishments along with other Expo-related events is available in real time on the official homepage of the Yeosu Expo or on the travel online café: café.naver.com/expotour.
