The values of ocean in Timor-Leste are tremendous as a foundation of living area, tourism, and natural resources. As ours are have never attacked by industralization yet, they are absolutely our social asset to sustain our lives and development in our future. We are fully proud of holding beautiful and purenature. Its Northern and Southern ocean are quite deep enough (down to 3,000m) for nuclear submarine to pass without notice.
2.[Geography] 'Legendary Crocodile with Friendship'
The land of island, Timor-Leste is surrounded by pristine water and white sand. The shape of land looks like a crocodile. According to our legend story of Timor-Leste,a crocodile became Timor island to provide a child with his territory to live.The crocodile remembered the child's help when it was exhausted on the land.That's why it is a symbol of friendship and peace in spite of its scare shape. Like the style of its skin, Timor-Leste's land is not plain, but mountainous.The tallest mountain, Ramelau is up to 2,996m hight which is taller than that ofKorea, Mt. Baekdu (2,774m).
3. [No. 1, Ocean Preservation] Fish Hook: Upto 23,000 Years-Old-Best Relationshipwith Ocean
Which country started ocean fishing history of human race? The answer is Timor-Leste.In other words, Timor-Leste has been used its ocean for the longest period oftime. According to ‘Australian Geographic’, minimum 16,000 to 23,000 years old, thousands of Fish Hooks were discovered at cave Jerimalai, Lautem district inNovember, 2011. Previous oldest fish hook was 6,600 years old, so that it shows remarkably Timor-Leste's one is. Its ocean is still very pristine. It implied that we’ve used to keep attitude of ocean preservation. We are fully proud of being a nation with the longest clean ocean preservation which is the unchangeable foundation of 'Living Ocean and Coast'-the motto of Yeosu EXPO2012.

5. [Pursuit of Peace] 'Sea of Mine' by Xanana Gusmao
What kinds of feeling can you have, if you see the massacre that any nation killedmass numbers of your people? 'Sea of Mine' is a poem written by a fighter fornational indepencence, Xanana Gusmao, who was chased and put in jail in 1995. The poem has surprised us with his unbelievablely astonished sadness, peacefulmind, and hope for the future. The embedded peaceful mind on this poem is one of evidence to forgive Indonesian people. Original version written in Portuguese,but General Coordinator, Isabel Ximenes translated it into English, and Deputy Coordinator, Choi Chang-Won did it into Korean.
6. [Peace Philosophy] of Timor-Leste: Relationship with Indonesia.
How can a former colony peacefully live with its colonizing power? Timor-Leste delivers meaningful message on this question. "We hate the norm to kill Timorese,but we don't hate Indonesia itself. "It is the very peaceful philosophy of Timorese. Most of all, Timorese political leaders emphasize peaceful forgivingand co-existence with Indonesia. At the same time, Roman Catholic, which over 90% of Timorese believes in has taught forgiving. Some foreigners seem to regardthis attitude as naive thinking, but it is also clear case of peace loving people. Timor-Leste refused to sue Indonesia to International Court of Justiceon the matter of massacre to Timorese. On 20th June 2012 Timorese openly welcome Indonesian delegates to celebrate their 10th anniversary of restorationday. Majority of Timorese leaders are proud of this attitude of the people.

Where is the Timor-Leste? It is one of the most frequently asked questions to ourpavilion staffs. The easiest way to explain its location to Korean people is starting from Incheon city. If you go down straightly upto Southern part of globe, you meet a small island. The East part of it is Timor-Leste. When Korean people eat lunch, a Timorese eats also does so. When Korean people sleep,Timorese also sleep even though Timor-Leste's weather is tropical one which is different from Koreans' four seasons. Two countries' time is exactly same as a symbol of similar history of two countries such as colonialism, divided byimperial powers, and unforgettable massacre. We wish Timor-Leste also achieve prosperity with democracy like Korea as well.
10. [Foot Ball Partner] Foot ball coach Mr. Kim, Shin-Hwan Bare Foot Dream
Is ispossible for a commercial movie to play in the head quarter of United Nations?Considering the UN's public pursuit, a commercial movie's playing doesn't make sense. However, one movie was possible to so. It is a Bare Foot Dream about one Korean Football coach, Kim Shin-Hwan who co-work with Timor-Leste's youth Football team's two time world champion in 2004, and 2005. The winning story is a symbol of Timorese potentiality as well as Korean contribution. The football coach, Mr. Kim plans to visit Timor-Leste booth in July.
11.Painter, Kang Jong Heok
Mr.Kang has visited Timor-Leste two time in 2005, and 2009. It is not easy to access Information about Timor-Leste as a person who is not Timorese. However, even foreigners are able to find many pictures by googling. However, Timor-Lestepainting is very different story. He is only one Korean painter who drawTimor-Leste in his frame. Probably, he is very few painter who draw Timor-Lestein the world. Also he is a citizen of Yeosu who has been famous of drawing flower of Yeosu, DongBak-motto is "I love only you." of so his small gallery at our booth is small example of cooperation between Timor-Leste andEXPO 2012 city, Yeosu.
12.[Korea in Timor-Leste] Development Partner as well as Security Partner
Korea's great reputation in Timor-Leste has triggered with United Nations' Election todecide Timor-Leste's independence in 1999: a Korean lawmaker, Son Bong-Sookparticipated in the election. From the first stage of establishing Timor-Leste,Korea directly involved in its independence. 'Sangroksu Troop', Korea's first military force under Peace Keeping Operation successfully had managed peace inLautem originally but also did in O'e-Cusse districts by request: it was anunique case because all other PKO joining countries operated only onedistricts.
Since 2009 UNTL has provided Korean language classes with voluntary professors initiated by Choi Chang Won, even though internationally well known Chinese and Japanese language classes did not. At the same year, SEFOPE (Secretariat of State forVocational Training and Employment) allocated government annual budget about one million USD for teaching Korean language to sendTimorese workers in Korea. Former President and Nobel Peace prize winner Hortaopenly has mentioned Korea many times as a symbol of economic development without any natural resource to Timorese as well. Korean government established Korea-UNDP fund to develop private sector in Timor-Leste by donating 2.1 millionUSD in 2012.
