Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Eun Kyeong attended the unveiling ceremony of the “Love Thermometer Tower” on Monday, December 1, marking the official launch of the “Hope 2026 Giving Campaign.” During the event, Minister Jeong underscored the significance of charitable giving and encouraged the public to help foster a culture of sharing this holiday season.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) and organized by the Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-joon), the Hope 2026 Giving Campaign will run for 62 days from December 1 through January 31 of next year. To support the fundraising target of KRW 450 billion, Love Thermometer Towers* have been installed at 17 major locations nationwide, including Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
* The temperature rises by one degree for every one percent of the target (KRW 4.5 billion) achieved, reaching 100 degrees when the goal is met.
At the launch ceremony, Minister Jeong stated, “Sharing is a collective act that brings hope and happiness to our society while helping to build a sustainable future. I encourage everyone to participate in the Hope 2026 Giving Campaign and help raise the temperature of compassion in our communities.”
