Shinhan Financial Group Commits KRW 10 Billion Over Three Years to the Just Give Program

- More than doubles its support from KRW 4.5 billion to KRW 10 billion for 2025–2027 -

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Jeong Eun Kyeong) announced that Shinhan Financial Group will provide a total of KRW 10 billion in support over three years (2025–2027), including KRW 1.5 billion in 2025, for the Basic Food Support Program (Just Give).*

   * The Just Give program is designed to ensure access to basic food by providing each person with three to five food items and daily necessities, without requiring an application and regardless of income. When additional support is needed, the program also connects individuals with specialized welfare services―such as customized welfare teams in local communities―to proactively identify and support vulnerable groups.

Under a memorandum of understanding signed with the MOHW in November 2025, Shinhan Financial Group agreed to support the Just Give program with KRW 4.5 billion over three years. However, as the program's impact has become more widely recognized and the need has grown to expand Just Give as a last-resort social safety net, Shinhan Financial Group decided to significantly increase its support to a total of KRW 10 billion over three years.

Meanwhile, the MOHW plans to rapidly expand the Just Give program nationwide to ensure that everyone is guaranteed the minimum food necessary to sustain their livelihood, and to further strengthen public–private cooperation through participation of companies and the public.

   * As of February 13, 2026, pilot operations are underway in 128 Just Give sites across 67 cities, counties, and districts.

MOHW Minister Jeong Eun Kyeong said, “We appreciate Shinhan Financial Group’s exceptional interest in and support for the Just Give program. We will continue to expand the foundation for cooperation between the government and the private sector to strengthen alignment between corporate community engagement and government policies and create meaningful synergy.”
