Three leading nations in North East Asia, Korea, China and Japan, create a platform for mutual exchange at Yeosu Expo.
The Organizing Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea announced that it would hold a “Celebration of Friendship between Korea-China-Japan Local Governments” from July 25th to 27th, during which the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosts a meeting for the heads of local tourism bureau of Korea, China, and Japan.
The “Celebration of Friendship between Korea-China-Japan Local Governments” was designed to promote mutual exchanges between local governments of the three nations, taking advantage of World Expo being held in Yeosu, Korea, while creating quality contents for visitors who come to enjoy the Expo.
The celebration kicks off on July 25th with various cultural performances. On June 25th and 26th, from 3 to 8 pm at Ocean Plaza, visitors will have a chance to experience Japanese summer festival “Natsu Matsuri.” A special performance from Tianjin, China by Beiyang Choir of Tianjin University and Tianjin Huaxia Future Child Performing-arts Troupe is in schedule at the China Pavilion. Meanwhile, “Palsandae”, a leading exponent of Korea’s traditional cultural performances, will take place at the Traditional Stage.
Visitors can also take up travel guide and PR materials at the Local Government Pavilion, China Pavilion and Japan Pavilion and get information on the three countries’ regional travel packages.
Also, some 40 Chinese and Japanese director-level officials, from travel-related departments of provinces and cities that have friendly ties with Korea, are expected to make an appearance at the Expo during the event and encourage more people to visit the Expo.
Min Sang-gi, the Director of Participants’ Events department of the Organizing Committee, said, “The event is a special opportunity to unite and better understand each other for the three ‘distant neighbors’ and to promote local cities and provinces of those countries”, and added, “Hopefully this will be a memorable experience for many of the visitors to the Expo as well.”
