The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Minister Oh Yu-kyoung,MFDS) and the National Fisheries Products Quality Management Service (Director Yang Young-jin, NFQS) jointly implement an electronic certification system for the exchange of health and quarantine certificates* for Peruvian fishery products, starting with shipments made on May 1, 2025.

* (MFDS) Health certificate: A certificate issued by MFDS guaranteeing that the product has been produced hygienically in compliance with the domestic standards for heavy metals, microorganisms, veterinary drugs, etc., according to the fishery products sanitary arrangement concluded with Peru.

  (NFQS) Quarantine certificate: A certificate issued by NFQS guaranteeing that the product is free from aquatic animals diseases designated by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
