On Feb 17th, the Haeundae Dalmaji·Spa Festival will take place in celebration of Jeongwol Daeboreum at Haeundae Beach. From noon, a wide range of events and performances will be held starting with a folk games competition at the beach. Representatives from each district of Haeundae-gu hold friendly competitions in four different traditional sports such as Yutnori, Tuhonori, Jeggichagi and knee-wrestling. From 02:00 pm, ‘Taepyeongseongdaemu’, a traditional Korean court dance will take place followed by a street parade honoring Queen Jinseong (?~897) of the Silla dynasty(BC 57~AD 935).

At the special Moonlight Karaoke outdoor stage, anyone can be a singer. Also, a reenactment of ‘Oryukgwibeom’ is held by the waterfront to demonstrate the tradition of fishing boats returning with their catches. The scene of fishermen heading back to port at twilight is quite majestic. Other events such as Wollyeonggiwonje, Burning of Daljip, Ganggangsullae will also take place to add to the celebrations.
