Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee

The competition schedules for the 2013 Incheon Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) have been finalized.

The AIMAG will open on June 29 at the Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon, but the first competitions will start three days prior to the official opening of the Games. The Futsal competitions will start at 11am on June 26, with two of the Women’s Group matches, between Thailand and Vietnam at Songdo Global University Campus Gymnasium and between Japan and Uzbekistan at Dongbu Student Gymnasium. On the same day, at 6:30pm, Korea will meet Macao in a Men’s Futsal Group match at Songdo Global University Campus Gymnasium.

Athletes will compete for 300 medals in 12 sports at the AIMAG, including Billiard Sports, Bowling, Chess, Baduk(Go), DanceSport, e-Sports, Futsal, Indoor Kabaddi, Kickboxing, Muay, Kurash, and Short Course Swimming 25 Meters. The first medal winners are expected in the Short Course Swimming 25 Meters, in the Women’s Freestyle 50 Meters event on June 30.

Korea’s first medal is expected in the Bowling Men’s Singles event on June 30. Team Korea is aiming for a gold sweep in the Bowling events.

The e-Sports events, which will be held from June 29 through July 2 are expected to draw a large crowd at the AIMAG. Extremely popular in Asia, the e-Sports competition will see the participation of the very best players from Korea, Chinese Taipei, and China. The Gold Medal match of the League of Legends event on July 1, especially, is expected to be one of the hottest draws of the entire AIMAG.

In the Billiards events, 2013 AIMAG Goodwill Ambassador Cha Yu-ram and her archrival Kim Ga-young are expected to go face-to-face for their fifth final meeting of the year in Women’s 9-Ball and 10-Ball Singles events.

The Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) will publish a competition schedule guide for athletes, officials, VIPS, competition operations staff, volunteers, and the media. Beginning on June 11, the official competition schedules will be available on the 2013 AIMAG official homepage (http://www.aimag2013.org).
