Yoon to conduct site inspection of national parks for disaster preparation
In order to provide safe visiting sites during summer, the
Minister Yoon, Seong-kyu of Environment went on a site inspection to check disaster
preparedness of national parks.
On July 6, Minister Yoon takes a site inspection of
landslide and rockslide hazard areas in
Bukhansan National Park and calls for thorough preparation
to prevent safety accidents in summer.
Korea National Park Service (KNPS) established a “Safety
measure against flood and typhoon” and designated 218 sites as special
management area for preventing causalities from flooding. In such areas, KNPS will
arrange safe guards and rescue equipments intensively.
In addition, KNPS expressed its strong will to prevent
safety accidents by taking wide-ranging measures such as imposing ban on
mountain climbing in special weather report, operating situation rooms for
safety measure against disaster, running a forecast and warning system in
national parks and issuing heat wave warnings.
Minister Yoon said that as the national parks are the best
healing place for the public, he will undertake a regular inspection on the
parks to make sure of safe and pleasant visits to the national parks.
