Chongga, a commercial Kimchi brand of Daesang FNF Corporation, announced the grand opening of Kimchi World, a Korean food experience center located in Insa-dong (Jongno-gu, Seoul).

The center, which officially opened its doors on Nov. 8th (2010) covers an area of 193.67㎡ and consists of three different sections: Information Zone, Experience Zone, and Sales Zone. At the Information Zone, visitors can learn about the history, origin and health benefits of fermented food through images and video clips. At the Experience Zone, visitors can make their own Korean foods including Kimchi, while at the Sales Zone, a wide array of Korean foods such as Kimchi, traditional sauces, and Jangajji (pickled vegetables) are on display for sale. Bossam-Kimchi (wrapped Kimchi), Matkimchi, and different kinds of gim (dried seaweed), are also available for sale.

At the center, visitors can participate in a wide range of interactive programs designed to share Korean food culture with international visitors. There is a 30-minute basic course (12,000 KRW) on how to make Bossam-Kimchi and a 50-minute premium course (25,000 KRW), which includes the cooking and sampling of Kimchijeon (Kimchi pancake), Tteokbokki (rice pasta in spicy sauce) and Makgeolli (rice wine). Multi-language information booklets and cooking books (in English, Japanese, and Chinese) are available free of charge for visitors to Kimchi World.
