The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) and Japan’s Research Institute for Peace and Security (RIPS) will co-host the Dialogue for ROK-Japan Strategic Cooperation in Tokyo, Japan, on September 5.


In the meeting, experts from the two countries will hold an extensive discussion on North Korea issues, the US-China relations, the situation in Northeast Asia and the ROK-Japan relations, and thereby draw a shared understanding on the regional situation and contribute to enhancing mutual understanding between the two.


The Dialogue is a closed-door meeting held in the two countries on an annual and rotational basis.


The ROK delegation to the forthcoming Dialogue will include Park Jae-hyun, Director-General of Asian and Pacific Studies of IFANS, and Yoo Ho-yeol, Chairperson of the Korean Political Science Association. The Japanese side will comprise RIPS Director Masashi Nishihara and professors Fumiaki Kubo and Hajime Izumi of Tokyo University and Shizuoka University, respectively.
